Who’s buying office space?

Demand for office space through 2014 will be fueled largely by the health care sector, according to the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) commercial research subcommittee. Real estate professionals with the ability to develop or locate space to meet the specific needs of health care providers likely will see a boost in business. Such space must offer uninterrupted power sources and safe disposal of biohazard material, among other specific criteria.

Tip of the Week – "Employment Branding" pays off

"Employment Branding" is gaining popularity in the real estate industry as a means of recruiting and retaining the best talent and generating new business. The concept is defined as a targeted, long-term strategy to manage awareness and perceptions of employees, potential employees, and related stakeholders to drive recruitment, retention and productivity management efforts. It involves cultivating an image of the realty firm in the minds of the community and its employees as the best place to work. The firm's work culture, management philosophy and community involvement should be made known to the public. To determine whether the employment branding strategy is a success, the firm should monitor how it is perceived internally and externally on a regular basis.
