  • “Identity Theft:  Protecting Your Customer” is approved for 3 hours of CE credit.  Written and taught by Andrew Wooten.  The steps learned in this course can help lessen the chances of becoming a victim of identity fraud.  It will cover office security; document security; background checks; open houses and minimizing your seller's risks; identity theft and what your customer can do; identity theft and what your customers should be aware of; and steps to take for victims of identity theft.
  • “Helping Your Customers Create Sustainable Income” is approved for 4 hours of CE credit.  Written and taught by Steven David. The purpose of this program is to help to develop a thoughtful (realistic) real estate investment plan to secure your financial future.  With all of the media coverage about the collapsing market, one might think real estate isn't such a great investment after all.  And they are partially correct;  speculation is rarely profitable!  However, this course is about INVESTING, and investing is almost always 180 degrees apart from speculation.

Tip of the Week — Learn about real estate auctions

If you have clients or customers interested in real estate auctions, get trained through coursework offered by the National Association of Auctioneers (NAA) Education Institute (formerly the Auction Marketing Institute). In affiliation with NAR, the organization provides courses and offers four designations. Get course descriptions and schedules at www.auctioneers.org. Here are the four designations:

Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) — Designed for decision makers in an auction firm. Classes focus on the operation of the auction firm.

Accredited Auctioneer, Real Estate (AARE) — Designed for auctioneers and real estate professionals involved in the marketing of real estate at auction.

Graduate, Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) — Designed for auctioneers and appraisers of personal property.

Certified Estate Specialist (CES) — Designed for the auctioneer who handles sales of estates.
